Enos-Words of Mormon

Enos 1:4

4 And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens.

There is something so sincere and pure about this verse. It is such a sincere, heartfelt expression. I think it can get so hard at times in our busy lives to take the time to ponder on the greater questions and worries in our lives. Here, he takes time when his soul hungered. He knelt. He cried. He poured out his soul to his Maker.

Another thing I think is also really important to note that it is okay at times to pray for nothing but your own soul. Generally, we are encouraged to focus on those around us and of course that is wonderful. But from time to time, we need to be okay with talking to God about nothing but our own souls.

With the digital age, we have become more impatient as a whole. So I think it can be pretty frustrating when the Lord doesn't give us immediate answers. It can get hard to ponder and wonder over questions and just be wondering with what seems to be no direction at times. We need to learn to pray with a full heart. To slave over the questions in our minds and put the work in to getting answers not always expect answers right away. We need to learn to be okay with that.
